The benefit fundraiser show I did recently for Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville was great! We were able to raise several thousand dollars for the Children’s Hospital. The show was co-sponsored by a group called GOOD SAM CLUB which is a senior group of RV travelers that hold festivals around the country. The Nashville show was packed with legendary entertainers from the past such as Merle Haggard’s wife that had written many songs for Merle and George Jones. The bass player and co-writer for Glen Campbell was on the show with many of his hits! They have booked me back for NEXT year- yessssss!
The Chapel Services for NHRA race event in Atlanta this past weekend went great as we had several hundred in attendance. Following a time of comedy, my message was “ITS NOT HOW YOU START- IT’S HOW YOU FINISH”.
The top fuel dragsters run over 300 miles per hour in approximately 3 seconds! WHEW! They start fast and focused but sometimes have to make quick adjustments to stay on track, not crash and finish strong!
I shared with them that we as “normal” people have to take quite a bit more time to run our race called “life”. When we start fast and focused, we sometimes get off track and may even crash because of our own poor choices or maybe because of someone else’s decisions that we have no control over. We can make adjustments by re-focusing on the Lord! It’s not how we start it’s how we finish!
I shared the story of when the disciples followed Jesus in the boat on the lake and as the storm threatened their lives they cried to Jesus. Jesus spoke and calmed the situation. Then Jesus asked them “Where is your faith”? Or where have you put it? (Luke 8:22-25)
Our faith is not in politicians. Our faith is not in our jobs. Our faith is not even in our family members that God has given us!
Our faith is to be in JESUS CHRIST our only hope! Selah!! Psalm 23
The women’s prison show for the inmates in Troy, NC went great! I even had my long time friend and ministry partner, David Roddick go with me and they even let us both out so we could come back home – haaaa!
We had much laughter and joy and for a while they forgot some unpleasant things and I believe some healing even happened behind those walls. Thank you Lord!
I recently had a great time of Christian musical comedy with my Pastor friend Jim Hale at his church as they blessed his community with a 5000K run or wait maybe that was 5K – ha ha. It was an evangelistic endeavor to reach out into the community. Approximately 100 folks came out to run and have fellowship on a beautiful Saturday morning. I wish more churches were as creative as Hiawassee Church of God in Madisonville, TN.
Pray for me as I continue to travel and minister while dealing with some arthritis issues. God helps me to do what He is still calling me to do.
I am thanking YOU for being my partner in prayer and in helping me to continue with your donations to our 501c3 Agape Ministries Inc.
